Househam Sprayers Ltd have scooped a prestigious award presented by the UK Trade and Investment department for their efforts in International Business Communication.
At an awards ceremony hosted by the East Midlands region of the UKTI on Friday 3rd December, the Leadenham based company came out on top of dozens of regional nominees to take the award after making great progress in 2010 with developing their overseas market.
Househam MD Robert Willey, Export Director Jim Dickinson and Export Manager Taras Doroshchak attended the awards ceremony where Taras outlined their worldwide strategy, which helped them to the award.
"In 2010 we have concentrated on developing dealership chains in Europe and we have added following countries to our map: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Belarus and Russia. Househam Sprayers have changes the way we communicate with our dealers by translating our manuals, sales literature, software and machinery decals into many European languages, which included Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Czech, Romanian and other languages as well as employing a Russian-speaking employee to help with effective communication between production and our overseas dealers.
The rationale behind this thinking was that the largest clients for our machinery are situated in countries like Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan and who also possess the largest amount of top quality agricultural soil in the world. Also, the majority of people in the CIS and Eastern Europe can speak Russian as well, so now we can reach out and communicate very effectively with a vast part of the world.
We can communicate our message accurately and key benefits of our machinery are not lost in translation, resulting in a successful introduction of our products in more than 10 countries in Central and Eastern Europe and in over £1m worth of sales to this region. Being able to speak our customer’s language and understanding their business environment and business ethics has had a big positive impact on perception of our products, especially on operator level and has helped to instil confidence in our machinery as a user friendly, easy to operate equipment.
In order to support our partners overseas, we have developed specialist training programmes, tailor made for our customers so that they can confidently deliver training courses. This communication also flows both ways and we receive a large amount of invaluable market information from our dealers regarding competition, market preferences and trends in the industry of agricultural machinery, so that we can most accurately tailor our machine’s offer to suit a particular market. We are also actively cooperating with our dealers in Europe and are jointly participating in dozens of trade shows and exhibitions and publishing articles about Househam Sprayers in agricultural magazines across the continent. Househam's message to our international clients and partners is the Britain can and does build the best quality machinery in the world and we continue this heritage by supplying reliable, robust and beautifully engineered equipment. We believe that we have definitely put Lincolnshire on the map of some of the world’s best quality machinery manufacturers as we are constantly raising the profile of our brand in Europe as well as our local area, since we are hosting numerous delegations from our partners, who inevitably end up their visit by visiting city of Lincoln."
Househam Sprayers will be at the forthcoming LAMMA show on the Newark Showground in January.
